 • New Multimedia over Coax Diplexers Enable Triple Play
• MoCA diplexers provide video transmission over existing coax cable
November, 2006 – UR (www.ur-home.com) introduces the new Multimedia Coax Diplexers for Tripple Play Applications from its partner Pulse®, a Technitrol Company (NYSE: TNL) (www.pulseeng.com) . The new series of diplexers that meet Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA®) standards to enable radio frequency (RF) distribution of enhanced triple play (voice, data, and video) services. The diplexers are used in products such as set-top boxes, gateways, network interface devices (NIDs), for video over the telephone network (Telco TV), Internet protocol TV (IPTV), and cable TV applications.
Today's homes commonly have two different types of communications wiring: coaxial cable primarily for television and twisted pair wire primarily for telephone/data use. Normally, video cannot be carried reliably over standard twisted-pair wire, and rewiring with high-performance twisted pair is expensive. Instead, MoCA technology enables Telco TV by utilizing RF frequencies over the existing coaxial cable, which is used to transmit all three triple play services within the home.
The first three members of Pulse's rapidly expanding MoCA diplexer family are models C6039, C6058, and CX6077. These diplexers are designed to be built into residential triple play distribution products - including optical network terminations (ONT), set-top boxes and gateway devices - and to work with integrated circuits that meet MoCA standards.
Diplexers contain both low- and high-pass filters, to selectively transmit low- and high-frequency signals, respectively. Cable TV signals are typically in the low-pass band, while data and IPTV signals are high-pass.
Pulse diplexers are highly resistant to electromagnetic interference and are fully shielded and grounded.
Parts in the MoCA family come in a variety of configurations with through-hole and surface mount applications. Parts include integrated F-connectors and extended temperature applications. The Pulse MoCA family is being expanded to include single filter designs, triplexers, switched filters, external devices, and weatherproof enclosures. In addition to catalog components, Pulse designs and manufactures custom parts that meet customers' specific requirements.

Today, October 16th, 2006 UR (www.ur-home.com) and BIXOLON – SAMSUNG Miniprinters (www.bixolon.com) have signed a European Sales Agreement. Following this agreement, the UR Group becomes pan-European BUSINESS Partner for SAMSUNG-BIXOLON.
The two companies will offer printing solutions to the Communication, IMS and Home Evolution market. UR will be the pan-European business and sales partner for finished products, and for customized and newly developed products to their large customer base and new target accounts. BIXOLON will support UR customers who use high quality and reliable solutions for almost any printing purpose. Most of BIXOLON´s products such as mini printers, Auto-Id solutions, mechanisms and embedded printer solutions will become part of UR´s range. “We anticipate strategic growth as a result of using UR´s strong market knowledge and customer network”, says Nils Brandes, Director of BIXOLON Europe. “Today, our main customers have up to now been in the retail market. UR (www.ur-home.com) is announcing the addition of the ultra-miniature EP13E7, EP15E7, and EP16E7 programmable oscillator series to their EPO™ family of frequency control products from its partner Ecliptek Corporation.
Measuring a mere 3.2 x 2.5 x 1.05 mm, these series are among the smallest programmable oscillator products available in the market today. Key features include supply voltage of 1.8V (EP16E7), 2.5V (EP15E7), or 3.3V (EP13E7), frequency stability to ±25ppm, operating temperature range of -20°C to +70°C or -40°C to +85°C, tri-state or power down option on pin 1, and standard duty cycle of 50 ±5(%). A list of standard frequencies can be found on the individual data sheets.
The EP13E7, EP15E7, and EP16E7 series utilize a proprietary IC and programming technology that allow them to be shipped in as little as two days for samples and one week for production. These products are ideal for applications such as medical equipment, LCD displays, interface controllers, portable media players, set-top box/video, networking products, or any application demanding a small footprint, high performance oscillator.
